- 2 Corinthians 10:4, NKJV - For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.
In that land across the sea
There’s a job for you and me
Though our presence there may not be found
We must stay each night and day
On the battle line and pray
We must never lay our weapons down
We don’t have to be a soldier in a uniform
To be of service over there
While the soldiers bravely stand
With the weapons made by hand
Let us trsut and use the weapon of prayer
Many thousands of miles away
Someone shed their blood today
With a heart so true and brave they’ve gone
To a war that’s yours and mine
Let us join the battle line
With a weapon that will save our home
When the planes and tanks and guns
Have done all that they can do
And the mighty bombs have rained and failed
Still the helpful hand above
Holds a weapon made of love
And against Him none on Earth prevail

I love the lyrics or words to this song, the words are so true. It is a beautiful song and I wish I had the music to it, so I could play it on the piano and sing it someday at our church. Thanks I would give it a big five on a scale of 1-5. pcanard@yahoo.com
Do you know where I could order the music to this song?
Ricky,
I heard you sing Weapon Of Prayer on the
Grand Ole Opry last night. You did a
great job as always. I admire you for
staying true to the one who gave you
your talent. I pray he’ll always take
care of you and your family and band
because you’re solders for Him!
May God Bless
It was great to hear this old song again. I remember it from the 1950’s. Seems it is appropriate so often in our country’s history. Ricky and his band do a wonderful job, as usual.
This is the best song ever. This is how everyone should feel about the troops fighting all over the world.
My stepson is a Marine posted to Iraq. Understandably, his mother probably couldn’t write this, but I am thankful that you and your band have decided to revisit some of the material from the early American traditions, Mr. Skaggs. After all, out grandfathers and grandmothers suffered through their wars, as did their antecedents. They must have some wisdom to help us. Thank you.
